JON WARRENCHUK
Jon Warrenchuk, Oceana's Senior Scientist and Campaign Manager, has almost two decades of
experience working on complex fisheries management and conservation issues in Alaska. In that
time, he has helped Oceana achieve many major conservation victories for the oceans, most
notably
the protection of millions of square miles of ocean habitat.
In May of 2022, Jon led an Oceana expedition to the Gulf of Alaska, circumnavigating Kodiak
Island and traveling to offshore reefs in order to document seafloor habitat. In the coming
year,
they will use what they found to help protect these essential areas for future generations.
Jon believes that by protecting ocean habitat and ensuring enough fish are available to fuel thefood
web, we can ensure the sustainability of our oceans and healthy fisheries for future generations.
